Kazakhstan-based company Falam plans to construct telecommunications satellite KazSat-2R over the coming years. Falam is a joint venture between state-owned company Kazakhstan Farysh Sapary (KFS) and France's Airbus Defence and Space. KFS owns a 72 percent stake in the venture, while Airbus has 27.5 percent. The Kazakhstan government holds a 0.5 percent stake.
Falam is currently carrrying out engineering work for the Kazakhstan scientific research satellite KazSTSTAT-1.
