This report looks at general trends in the international fabric machinery market and provides detailed analyses of various fabric machinery subsectors. 2016 was a mixed year for producers of fabric machinery. Shipments of shuttleless looms increased and were higher than their annual average over the ten years to 2016.

Also, shipments of electronic flatbed knitting machines reached a record high—due primarily to growth in shipments to the textile industry in China. But shipments of single jersey circular knitting machinery fell to their lowest level since 2003 and shipments of double jersey circular knitting machinery also fell, although they were still at their third highest level on record.
