MASSENA — Village police charged a 28-year-old Massena man after they discovered a methamphetamine lab Thursday at 250 Main St.

Police charged James A. Regan, of 250 Main St., Apt. 3, with a felony count of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

Village Police and the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Response Team (CCSRT) had responded to 250 Main St. on Thursday and discovered a methamphetamine lab in one of the seven apartments.

The meth lab was discovered after police were asked to assist with checking on a parolee at that address.

Regan was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, and the building was evacuated for the safety of the tenants while CCSRT members removed the meth lab materials.
