Two women plead guilty to manufacture of methamphetamine

Kara L. Hickman, 42, pleaded guilty Monday in Jefferson County Court to third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine. She admitted to being in possession of materials for the making of methamphetamine on July 4 along with three co-defendants.

Because she had a prior felony, she faces a sentence of two years in prison and two years of probation.

Jenna C. Hoistion, 32, Watertown, pleaded guilty to third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in connection to the same arrest. She admitted to being in possession of materials for the manufacturing of methamphetamine on July 4 of this year along with three other co-defendants. She faces a sentence of time served and up to five years of probation to include completing a third-party treatment program.

In other action in Jefferson County Court Monday:

Cory A. Merritt, 26, pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal contempt. He admitted to disobeying an order of protection. He faces a sentence of time served and five years’ probation, including completion of an unspecified treatment program.

Dustin C. Stacy, 27, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal contempt, reduced from two counts of first-degree criminal contempt. He faces a sentence of probation.

Morgan A. Lasell, 25, Watertown, was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge, having previously pleaded guilty to aggravated driving while intoxicated as a misdemeanor. As part of the discharge, she will have to complete the Bridge program, make a $750 payment, pay a New York State surcharge and install an interlock device in any car she might buy.

Daniel J. Johnson, 47, Watertown, was sentenced to two years in state prison, followed by an additional two years of supervision upon his release, after pleading guilty June 6 to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He admitted to selling methamphetamine in the county last May. He was sentenced as a second-felony offender, having been convicted in Oswego County Court in June 2014 to criminal possession of the precursors to methamphetamine.

Wil Moss III, 25, Watertown, was sentenced to an unspecified amount of time served at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and five years’ probation after pleading guilty June 4 to criminal possession of a firearm and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Mr. Moss was initially charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, possession of a loaded firearm and possession of stolen property after Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force executed a warrant on April 23 at his Emerson Street home and said they found $5,145 in cash, more than a pound of marijuana, digital scales and packaging material, two handguns, one of which was loaded, and a rifle.

Aaron M. Gerstenschlager, 20, Watertown, was sentenced to time served at the PSB and five years’ probation after pleading guilty in May to third-degree criminal possession of marijuana and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the same Emerson Street incident as Mr. Moss. Mr. Gerstenschlager admitted to possessing a firearm illegally and more than one pound of marijuana stemming from that raid.

Tabatha J. Matthie, 47, Potsdam, was sentenced to five years’ probation, fined $1,000 and had her driver’s license revoked after pleading guilty in May to operating a motor vehicle in February while her ability was impaired by drugs. Further information about the charge was not available. Her probation supervision will be transferred to St. Lawrence County.

Dondrell M. Aker, 28, address not available, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He admitted he had and sold cocaine in the county on June 27. He is expected to be sentenced Oct. 9 to five years’ probation.
