Felony counts involve manufacture and sale of heroin and cocaine in Adrian

ADRIAN — Four men have been charged with running a criminal enterprise to sell heroin and cocaine in Adrian.

The four men — Jason Allen Boone, 30, of Detroit, Jalen Marcell Johnson, 22, of Adrian, Anthony Pollard, 22, of Detroit, and Dayvonta Winston, 25, of Adrian — are each charged with single felony counts of delivery or manufacture of less than 50 grams of cocaine, delivery or manufacture of less than 50 grams of heroin and conspiracy to commit criminal enterprises as well as one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.

They were arraigned Friday in Lenawee County District Court. Preliminary hearings were scheduled for Sept. 28, and $200,000 bonds on each were continued.

They were charged earlier this month with the heroin, cocaine and marijuana charges, but those were dismissed Friday by the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office “in the interest of justice” because of the new charges, according to district court records.

The four were identified by the Region of Irish Hills Narcotics Office as running a drug-selling operation from January through early September in Adrian, according to affidavits of probable cause filed with district court. They were arrested Sept. 4 when police raided a residence in the 900 block of East Maumee Street in Adrian.
