Man arrested for using Ventura motel room to manufacture heroin - KEYT

VENTURA, Calif. - A man was arrested Tuesday morning after using a Ventura motel room to manufacture heroin.

According to the Ventura Police Department, officers responded to a motel in the 3300 block of East Main Street just after 2:45 a.m. Tuesday and discovered a suspicious man trying to hide from authorities in an alley. Officers detained the man who they then indentified as 27-year-old Christopher Diaz.

Upon a further investigation, officers determined Diaz had a room in the motel where he was manufacturing large quanties heroin. It was further established that he possessed the illegal drugs for further sales, police said.

He was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for manufacturing heroin, possession for sales of a controlled substance, and maintaning a place for illegal drug use.
