No End in Sight to Kosovo's Cycle of Political Crisis - Balkan Insight

Kosovo’s prime minister-in-waiting, Albin Kurti, declared this week that 2019 was a year “without any important event, without any success, without results”.

The only positive development, he said, was the resignation of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj in July, paving the way for elections in October won by Kurti’s Vetevendosje party.

Yet as Europe’s youngest state enters 2020, it remains without a government, without a budget and without the resumption of talks with former master Serbia that are so crucial to Kosovo’s further European integration.

Kosovo has the air of a country in constant political crisis, experts warn.
