To help fill the void created by the delayed 2020 regular season, I dusted off the Fish Stripes Sporcle account! Each Saturday, I’ll share an original Marlins quiz with all of you.
This one touches on a sensitive topic: the franchise’s cycle drought. Through 27 seasons, no player has done it. Every year, there are Fish who get stuck “a triple shy” of this achievement.
Thanks to the magical Baseball-Reference Play Index, I found 30 players with multiple games during their Marlins tenures that included a single, double and home run. Can you name them all within 15 minutes?! I provided some big hints to make it possible (defensive positions and the first year they joined the team).
