Is Your Battery Health Taking a Nose-Dive Lately? Find Out iPhone Battery Cycle Count and Confirm
The addition of Battery Health information in Settings gives you a picture how well your iPhone’s battery is doing and whether or not it’s capable of supporting peak performance. But, it doesn’t go into much detail at all. In fact, if you ask a geek, they will probably just dismiss the percentage and instead prefer the iPhone battery cycle count. In today’s tutorial we will show you how you can find just that, without using third-party software or even connecting your iPhone to your computer.
Turn on ‘Share iPhone Analytics‘ Option First
Step 1. Launch the Settings app.
Step 2. Scroll down and tap on Privacy.
Step 3. Scroll all the way down and tap on Analytics & Improvements.
Step 4. Turn on the ‘Share iPhone & Watch Analytics’ option.
What is Your iPhone Battery Cycle Count?
Step 1. Launch the Settings app from your home screen once again.
Step 2. Open Privacy.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap on Analytics & Improvements.
Step 4. Now open ‘Analytics Data.’
Step 5. Scroll all the way down till you start seeing entries for ‘log-aggregated’ and open the one that is at the very bottom, which is the latest one as well.
Step 6. Select all the text that is present here and copy it. When I say ‘all the text’ I mean all the text.
Step 7. Launch the Notes app, create a new note and paste the text here.
Step 8. Now tap on the Share button in the note and then select Find in Note.
Step 9. Search for:
batterycyclecount
That is not a typo, you have to type it without spaces exact as shown above.
Step 10. The value between <integer> and </integer> is your iPhone battery cycle count.
If you have a significantly high battery count, in the range of 500 or more, then your battery is going to slowly give up the ghost on you, forcing you to either upgrade your phone or get a battery replacement. As you can see from the above screenshot, I have a cycle count of 123 on my iPhone 11 Pro Max, which is nothing short of legendary.
Draining the battery from 100% to 0% and then charging it back up is counted as one cycle. But, if you drain the battery to 50% one day and charge it again to full and drain it to 50% again the next day and charge it to 100%, that too is one cycle count.
You can avoid bringing the cycles up too quickly by leaving your phone on charge whenever you are not using it. Our smartphones are smart enough to know when to cut power off ensuring that battery is not harmed when you leave it plugged in. Also, whenever your phone is no charge, it’s a super good idea to never use it. Always unplug from the charger even if you are sending just a small text message.
