A HAMPSHIRE couple will be pedalling for pounds this weekend as they raise money for county hospices.
Jenny and John Sutton from Colden Common will cycle 52 miles in their back garden on Sunday (April 26).
John, 73, has converted their electric bikes into static versions, allowing the pair to clock up the miles without flouting lockdown rules.
“It is going to be a long day but one we want to do for our wonderful hospices in Hampshire,” said Jenny.
“We know this is a very difficult time for everyone but we need our hospices, they do amazing work and support so many people. If we can do our little bit to help, it’s worth some sore legs.”
The couple run the Voices for Hospice Choir group, which stages regular concerts and fundraising events for Hampshire hospices.
Lockdown has put a halt to all regular fundraising activity but it has not deterred the pair, both volunteers at Mountbatten Hospice Hampshire, from showing their support

Their beneficaries are: Mountbatten Hospice, Southampton; Naomi House and Jacksplace, Sutton Scotney; St Michaels Hospice, Basingstoke; Countess of Brecnock, Andover; and Oakhaven Hospice, Lymington.
