UGN Automotive Manufacture Looks To Higher 50 Full-Time Workers - Yahoo News

TINLEY PARK, IL — UGN Inc., a local manufacturing company headquartered in Tinley Park, is looking to hire 50 full-time employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release. Employees will receive hourly pay and benefits, according to the release.

The company is hosting a job fair at their Valparaiso Plant, 2252 Industrial Dr. Valparaiso, IN 46383, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 1:30 – 5:00 p.m., according to the release. Applicants can apply online, in person or can contact the company by phone at (219) 464-7813.

UGN Inc. is a leading automotive parts manufacturer that supplies acoustic interior trim and thermal management products for Japanese auto companies based in North America, according to the release. The company announced they are hiring for 50 open positions at the Valparaiso Plant, to bring people back to work during the pandemic.

The job openings are for production operators and will be receiving $14 per hour, according to the release. Due to the pandemic, workers undergo health assessments and on a daily basis, according to UGN.

"If you have been working in an industry such as travel and hospitality that has been hit hard by COVID-19, if you are looking for a career change, if you are taking a gap year from college, manufacturing provides tremendous opportunities for growth, even if you have no prior experience," Anthony said according to the release. "The automotive sector has bounced back from COVID-19 faster than many other industries, and our customers are seeing strong forecasts and are optimistic about the future."

According to the release, UGN was founded in 1986 as a partnership between Nihon Tokushu Toryo Co. Ltd. and Autoneum Holding AG. UGN currently employs nearly 2,000 people at six facilities in the United States —Jackson, Tennessee; Monroe, Ohio; Novi, Michigan; Somerset, Kentucky; Tinley Park, Illinois; and Valparaiso, Indiana; as well as a location in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico—according to the release. The company is worth more than $425 million in revenue, according to UGN.
