Manufacturing group launches campaign to counter vaccine hesitancy | TheHill - The Hill

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) released a public service announcement on Wednesday intended to counter vaccine hesitancy and convince more Americans to prepare to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The PSA is part of a project called “This Is Our Shot” with the Manufacturing Institute, the workforce development and education partner of the NAM, that builds on their work to implore Americans to follow health guidelines like wearing a mask.

“Asking all Americans to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated against COVID-19 is a pivotal step toward stopping this upward trend, putting millions of people back to work and eradicating this virus. That’s why today the National Association of Manufacturers and The Manufacturing Institute launched ‘This is Our Shot,’ to get more people armed against COVID-19 and to protect the people we care about,” NAM CEO Jay Timmons said in a statement.

The PSA highlights why manufacturers are getting a COVID-19 vaccine, including protecting their family, coworkers and the people they love.

“Manufacturers are rolling up our sleeves because we all have someone we love,” the PSA says.

It will run across various social media and digital platforms and is the first in the “This Is Our Shot” series that will be released in 2021.

The PSA comes a day after President Biden said the administration wants to purchase 200 million more doses of COVID-19 vaccine. That could provide enough doses for nearly every American to get inoculated by the end of the summer.
