Dronamics, a company specialising in the development and operation of cargo drones, has sealed a new partnership with Codesa, a manufacturer of high-quality composite fibre components for aerospace automotive vehicles.
Under the agreement, both will work together to produce the «Black Swan», a long-range cargo drone developed by Dronamics that can carry up to 350 kilograms of goods over distances of up to 2.500 kilometres. The drones will be manufactured at Cotesa’s facilities in Germany.
According to a press release issued by Dronamics, the partnership will ensure that the production of this type of unmanned aerial vehicle can support the expected demand in Europe from 2023, as a result of the opening of new trade routes.
Drones will be able to support daytime e-commerce services and cover long distances at up to 80% lower cost compared to any aircraft currently available on the market. In addition, they will be able to replace cargo planes and ground vehicles used for this purpose. For this reason, they are already an attractive solution for many companies interested in optimising their operations.
«We are delighted to have Cotesa as a manufacturing partner in Europe«, said Svilen Rangelov, co-founder and CEO of Dronamics. «This agreement to produce the Black Swan in their German facility supports our promise to enable same day delivery for everyone, everywhere, and the start of Dronamics’ commercial operations as the first drone cargo airline on the continent next year», he added.
For his part, Christian Bartsch, CEO of Cotesa, said: «Based on our long experience and competence in the manufacturing of components and assemblies for civil aviation, Cotesa is excited to partner with such an innovator in the air mobility space».
