The manufacturing will take place across both Chennai and Bengaluru facilities of Avalon. Avalon has been working as a strategic design and manufacturing partner to C-DAC since 2021, delivering PCB design & analysis, Prototype PCB assemblies, Cables, and Sheet metal chassis. However, with this partnership, the company will now manufacture fully-integrated and tested RUDRA servers.
Rudra aims at designing and manufacturing supercomputers in India with a goal to demonstrate the country's capabilities to design, develop, build and deliver computing needs of critical and national importance.
Kunhamed Bicha, chairman and MD, Avalon said that the company will be a key partner in assisting with the manufacturing of India’s first ever natively designed server by C-DAC. “We have been involved in the process of development of RUDRA server by providing advanced manufacturing solutions and are delighted to now take on a strategic role in bringing about the Make in India story.”
“We have been associated with Avalon technologies for the manufacture of Rudra Chassis as well as C-DAC’s high-speed switch for a couple of years. It will be an added advantage partnering with a company like Avalon Technologies for manufacturing of our indigenously designed server platform, Rudra” A K Nath, executive director, corporate strategy, C-DAC, Pune, said.
