Disney Hires Sony to Manufacture, Distribute and Market Its DVDs - Bloomberg

Walt Disney Co. is handing the bulk of its DVD and Blu-ray business in the US and Canada to Sony Group Corp., according to people with knowledge of the transaction.

Burbank, California-based Disney is transitioning its physical home-media business to a licensed model, under which Sony will manufacture and sell the discs to retailers, said the people, who asked not to be identified as the information is private.
