Massimo Group plans to expand motorsports manufacturing in Garland - The Dallas Morning News

Off-road vehicle and boat maker Massimo Group plans to expand its Garland manufacturing facility by 90,000 square feet, nearly a third larger than it’s existing footprint.

“This expansion is a timely project concurrent with the growth of both our motor and marine verticals as we ramp up our production to support increased sales,” CEO David Shan said in a statement. “We continue to experience sales momentum across UTVs, ATVs, and electric bikes as well as pontoon boats.”

Its facility is now 376,000 square feet, around 69% of which is dedicated to Massimo Motor Sports and around 26% for Massimo Marine.

The company said it saw increased demand for the motorsport products, which accounted for annual revenue growth of 32% for its utility task vehicles, all-terrain vehicles and electric bikes and 38% for its pontoon boats in 2023. Their expansion will also open Massimo Group to potential new products, Chan said.

In February, the company went public and announced plans for growth. Their initial public stock offering raised close to $6 million by April with 1.3 million shares at $4.50 per share. Founded in 2009, Massimo Group has 126 full-time employees and has a market value around $165 million. The company reported that revenue in its first quarter this year increased 60% to $30.2 million.

Massimo Group’s products include motorcycles, scooters, golf carts, go-karts, motor boats and more. The company is also developing electric UTVs, golf-carts and pontoon boats.

The Garland facility neighbors a seven-acre Dallas storage area for boats and serves as the company’s hub for pontoon boat manufacturing and packaging ATVs and UTVs, according to the company. The facility includes a design center, more than 30 loading docks, two assembly lines and more.

Most of Massimo Group’s inventory is imported directly to the Garland location, where it undergoes assembly, accessorizing and inspection before shipment, according to a press release. Pontoon boats are wholly manufactured at the Garland facility.

Earlier this year, Chan said the company plans to add distribution centers in California and the Southeast, with plans to expand hiring, marketing, research, development and assembly.
