ADDISON, N.Y. (WENY) - Six people are behind bars after police allegedly found weapons and meth at two homes in Steuben County.
Early Thursday morning, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) and the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team (SORT) executed simultaneous searches of a home on Reservoir Hill Road in Addison and on County Route 119 in Rathbone.
According to the Sheriff's Office, their investigation revealed the homes had stolen firearms. During their search, authorities say they found what appeared to be meth-making products and by-products.
Authorities reportedly recovered one stolen rifle, three firearms, multiple firearms parts, about 39 ounces of methamphetamine oil in various stages of production, and more than three grams of finished methamphetamine product.
32-year-old Robert Baker, of Addison, is charged with 3rd degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He's being held in the Steuben County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
26-year-old Samuel Byer, Jr., of Addison, is charged with 3rd degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine. He's being held in the Steuben County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
34-year-old Edward Howlett, of Addison, is charged with 2nd degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine. He's being held on $50,000 cash bail.
21-year-old Serena Russell, of Savona, is charged with 3rd degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine. She's being held on $10,000 cash bail.
24-year-old John Hallett, of Elkland, PA, is charged with 3rd degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine. He's being held on $10,000 cash bail.
26-year-old Ashley Webster, of Hornell, 3rd degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. She's being held on $5,000 bail.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges are expected.
The Village of Bath Police Department, Steuben County District Attorney’s Office, the New York State Police, the Addison Volunteer Fire Department, the Gang Mills Forest View Volunteer Fire Department and the AMR Ambulance Service all assisted in the investigation.
