New company will invest $10 million to manufacture flooring in Neenah

NEENAH - A newly formed company called Lico-US plans to invest $10 million to manufacture flooring at a plant on the city's south side.

Lico-US is owned by principals of Lico AG of Switzerland and Acoustic Ceiling Products (ACP) of Neenah. It will add extrusion and milling lines to a facility at 555 W. Bell St. to produce rigid PVC flooring.

The company's warehousing, distribution, marketing, accounting and sales support will be handled by ACP, which occupies the former Werner Electric Supply building at 2341 Industrial Drive.

Together, the two facilities total about 200,000 square feet.

Dave Blurton, a spokesman for ACP, said Lico-US will hire 16 people to run the new extrusion and milling lines.

ACP, which manufactures and distributes backsplash, ceiling and wall products for residential and commercial customers, currently employs about 80 people.

Brad Schmidt, Neenah's deputy director of community development and assessment, said the investment in new manufacturing was good news for the city, as was the earlier reoccupation of the former Werner Electric building.

Werner Electric moved its headquarters to Grand Chute in 2016.

"When Werner was here, they employed a lot of people," Schmidt said. "It's good to see that the building is being reused."

Beginning in the fall of 2019, Lico-US will manufacture Hydro Fix Flooring. It also will handle sales and service in North America for flooring brands made at Lico’s plant in Mustair, Switzerland.

“Incorporating flooring into our product offerings was the obvious next step for ACP in our quest to provide innovative, whole-home decor solutions for our customers,” ACP President Rob Rebman said in a statement posted on PRWeb. “Lico-US will be a pioneer in manufacturing rigid PVC floor in the U.S., combining Swiss-quality production processes with ACP’s proven Midwest sales and distribution model."
