WATERTOWN — Joseph C. Peck, Jr., 44, on Friday in Jefferson County Court waived a grand jury indictment and pleaded guilty to third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He admitted that on Nov. 30 he possessed materials to manufacture methamphetamine as well as possessing methamphetamine with the intent to sell it or give it away.
He faces a sentence of three years in prison with a Willard Drug Treatment Program mandate and two years of probation.
Also Friday, George D. Castine, 36, formerly of Wealtha Avenue, was arraigned as a second-felony offender and sentenced to two years in state prison and two years of probation. On Jan. 8 he had pleaded guilty to third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Veranda Gates, 36, Temple, Ga,. waived her right to a grand jury indictment and pleaded guilty to first-degree identity theft. She admitted that on Oct. 5, 2015, in Cape Vincent, she used another person’s identity to obtain services and benefits of over $2,000. She was then sentenced to five years probation and $4,982 in restitution.
Jeremiah R. Keppel, 34, Iowa, pleaded guilty to first-degree possession of prison contraband. He admitted that on Dec. 14 he possessed methamphetamine while in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building jail. He faces a sentence of time served.
Courtney M. Trahan, 29, Adams Center, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.
She admitted that on Dec. 9 she was driving on Route 81 in Adams while intoxicated and with two children in the car.
She faces a sentence of three years probation, a $500 fine, revocation of her license and a mandatory ignition interlock device.
Jennifer L. Scales was sentenced to time served and five years of probation.
On Dec. 4 she pleaded guilty to possessing, on Sept. 1, numerous items to illegally manufacture methamphetamine during an incident in Watertown.
Caitlin W. Armstrong, 30, Carthage, was sentenced to three years of probation, a $1,000 fine, revocation of her license and a mandatory interlock device. On Nov. 28 she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor aggravated driving while under the influence. She admitted that on April 29, she drove on Winslow Street with a blood alcohol content of 0.22 percent. Aggravated DWI is charged when a driver has a BAC of at least 0.18 percent.
Deonna Hairston, 32, Black River, was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge to the Bridge Program, a $500 fine and revocation of her license. She pleaded guilty on Nov. 28 to driving while intoxicated and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
