Maybe this is also a wakeup call for America. We are a nation of consumers. We manufacture very few things and depend on the rest of the world to provide our needs. And we have yet to experience the extent of shortages now affecting us.
Perhaps we have learned here, during this health crisis, that we must manufacture our needs right here in our country and avoid our dependence on others.
We used to manufacture many things: “Made in America.”
