Hickey Freeman suits to no longer manufactured in Rochester - News10NBC

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Hickey Freeman suits will no longer be manufactured in Rochester after 124 years.

Luxury Men’s Apparel Group has lost the manufacturing rights to the iconic men’s clothing brand.

The vice president of Hickey Freeman tells News10NBC the factory on North Clinton Avenue will become “Rochester Tailored Clothing” and will retain its 205 employees.

A new factory store will also open downtown Memorial Day weekend at the corner of South Union and Broad streets.

Hickey Freeman suit production will move to Mexico.

Clothing for other brands will still be made here – including Brooks Brothers, J. Press and Todd Snyder.

Hickey Freeman was founded in 1899.
