THE WXII 12 NEWSROOM IS FOLLOWING AT THIS HOUR. A RANDOLPH COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH FELONY CHILD ABUSE WILL FACE A JUDGE TODAY. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTED TYQUAN BLACKSTOCK YESTERDAY AND DEPUTIES SAY THEY FIRST STARTED INVESTIGATING HIM BACK IN APRIL. BLACKSTOCK IS CURRENTLY IN CUSTODY ON A $25,000 SECURED BOND. CHANGES COULD BE COMING TO BANK OF AMERICA STADIUM IN CHARLOTTE. THE CAROLINA PANTHERS REVEALED WHAT IT NOW CALLS THE CROWN JEWEL OF THE QUEEN CITY. THE PROPOSED RENOVATIONS FOR THE STADIUM INCLUDE NEW VIDEO BOARDS, SCOREBOARDS, A SOUND SYSTEM, NEW SEATS AND SOCIAL AREAS. THE PANTHERS OWNERSHIP IS REQUESTING $650 MILLION FROM THE CITY OF CHARLOTTE TO HELP WITH THIS PROJECT. TEPPER SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT WOULD INVEST AN ADDITIONAL. 150 MILLION. RENOVATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN. 2025 AND WOULD FINISH IN 2029. IF EVERYTHING GOES ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE, THE CITY COUNCIL WILL VOTE ON THIS PROPOSAL LATER THIS MONTH. TODAY, GREENSBORO CITY COUNCIL IS HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING ON INCENTIVES FOR PROJECT MERCURY, A PACKAGING AND CONTAINER COMPANY WANTS TO BUILD A PLANT ON MCCONNELL ROAD, WHICH IT SAYS WOULD CREATE 80 NEW JOBS. AND CITY COUNCIL IS CONSIDERING A $344,000 INCENTIVES PACKAGE FOR THE PROJECT. SO TODAY, THERE’S A PUBLIC HEARING ON THAT STARTING AT 530 IN THE MELVIN MUNICIPAL OFFICE BUILDING ON WASHINGTON STREET. AND THEN THE GUILFORD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ARE ALSO CONSIDERING A $373,000 INCENTIVE PACKAGE FOR THE SAME PROJECT. A HEARING ON THAT IS SET FOR THIS THURSDAY AT 53

A new manufacturing facility is coming to Greensboro. North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announced Clearly Clean Products, LLC will set up shop creating at least 80 new jobs in Guilford County. “We are glad to welcome another innovative company to Guilford County,” Cooper said. “Clearly Clean’s commitment to sustainability aligns with our values of creating a robust manufacturing economy and a healthier environment for all who call our state home.”The packaging manufacturer is headquartered in Pennsylvania. They manufacture 100% recycled food trays for the meat and produce industry. The new facility will nearly double its current production capacity.
