TODAY, GREENSBORO CITY COUNCIL IS HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING ON INCENTIVES FOR PROJECT MERCURY, A PACKAGING AND CONTAINER COMPANY WANTS TO BUILD A PLANT ON MCCONNELL ROAD, WHICH IT SAYS WOULD CREATE 80 NEW JOBS. AND CITY COUNCIL IS CONSIDERING A $344,000 INCENTIVES PACKAGE FOR THE PROJECT. SO TODAY, THERE’S A PUBLIC HEARING ON THAT STARTING AT 530 IN THE MELVIN MUNICIPAL OFFICE BUILDING ON WASHINGTON STREET. A new manufacturing facility is coming to Greensboro. North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announced Clearly Clean Products, LLC will set up shop creating at least 80 new jobs in Guilford County. “We are glad to welcome another innovative company to Guilford County,” Cooper said. “Clearly Clean’s commitment to sustainability aligns with our values of creating a robust manufacturing economy and a healthier environment for all who call our state home.”The packaging manufacturer is headquartered in Pennsylvania. They manufacture 100% recycled food trays for the meat and produce industry. The new facility will nearly double its current production capacity.
