Inadequate sanitizer levels in rinse cycle; debris, grease, leaking water: Cumberland County restaurant inspe - pennlive.com

The following Cumberland County restaurants were found to have violated Pennsylvania’s health and safety regulations during inspections between Feb. 16-22. Inspections are overseen by the Department of Agriculture. The department notes that in many cases violations are corrected by the restaurant before inspectors leave.

AMERICAN LEGION POST #101

  • Observed an accumulation of debris on the floor under the dishwasher in the kitchen.
  • Observed an accumulation of debris on the floor under the bar, and on the floor around the bar dishwasher.
  • Observed an accumulation of grease on the floor in the corner below the hood unit.
  • Person-in-charge does not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection.
  • Cold water is not working at the hand-wash sink in the bar.
  • Observed a leak on the front of the bar dishwasher.
  • Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low-temperature-sanitizing dishwasher in the bar was zero ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required.

  • Observed shelf supporting the not-in-use lettuce cooler a, non-food-contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil.
  • Food employee observed in kitchen/back of the house area, wearing bracelet/watch/ring on hands or arms. Employees were directed at the time of the inspection to remove these items.
  • Observed the door seal on the walk-in cooler is rough, has chunks missing and is no longer smooth and easily cleanable.
  • Observed approximately .75 container of two-percent milk that had a sell-by date of 2/19/2020. Product valued at $3.00 was immediately discarded.
